DAY 4,5 AND 6 OF 100 DAYS OF CODE: My weekend with Javascript, Freecodecamp's Basics of javascript
While I had some prior experience with JavaScript, I knew
that there was still much to learn. So, I turned to FreeCodeCamp’s Basics in
JavaScript course as a starting point. I began the course on Day 4 of my coding
challenge, eager to dive into this exciting new language.
Days 4, 5, and 6 of my coding challenge fell on a weekend,
which gave me the perfect opportunity to devote some serious time to learning
JavaScript. I started on Friday, working my way through the basics of the
language. I was excited to discover the many ways in which JavaScript can be
used to create interactive, dynamic web pages.
However, since Saturday is a Sabbath, I refrained from
coding during the day and waited until evening to continue my studies. During
this time, I reflected on the importance of taking breaks and finding balance
in my work as a programmer. While I am passionate about coding and love to
learn new things, I also recognize the importance of rest and rejuvenation.
With this in mind, I returned to my studies on Sunday, eager
to continue exploring the world of JavaScript. I learned about variables, data
types, functions, and more. I also discovered the many frameworks and libraries
that are available for JavaScript, including React, Angular, and Vue. The
possibilities seemed endless, and I was excited to continue learning more.
By Monday afternoon, I had completed the fundamentals of the
JavaScript course and had even built my first fully developed JavaScript
project - an age calculator. This project allowed me to apply the concepts that
I had learned in a practical way, and it was incredibly rewarding to see my
code come to life.
Looking back on my weekend with JavaScript, I am struck by
the many insights and discoveries that I made. I realized that learning a new
programming language is not just about mastering syntax and semantics, but also
about understanding the philosophy and culture behind it. I discovered that
JavaScript is a versatile and powerful language with many applications in web
development and beyond.
Most importantly, I recognized the value of taking the time
to invest in my own growth as a programmer. By setting aside a weekend to learn
JavaScript, I was able to deepen my understanding of this language and to
expand my horizons as a developer. I am excited to continue exploring JavaScript
and to see where it takes me in my coding journey.
If you are thinking about learning a new programming
language, I highly recommend giving JavaScript a try. And, if you are looking
for a great place to start, I can’t recommend FreeCodeCamp’s Basics in JavaScript
course enough. Happy coding!
